LPA, shear line to bring rains over parts of Luzon, VisMin

The low pressure area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol Region, and MIMAROPA, state weather bureau PAGASA said in its Saturday morning forecast.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected over Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon due to the shear line.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail over the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley because of the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan).

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

As of 3 a.m., the LPA was located 320 kilometers east of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.

Meanwhile, Typhoon In-Fa was spotted 2,245 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

In-Fa was packing maximum sustained winds of 165 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center and gustiness of up to 205 km/h.

Winds will be light to moderate, while coastal waters across the country will remain slight to moderate. — VBL, GMA News
