At least 4 areas logged danger level heat index on Nov. 7, 2026
A “danger” level heat index was recorded in at least four areas on Saturday, November 7, 2026, the state weather bureau PAGASA reported.
Based on the bureau’s calculated heat index, weather stations in the following areas registered temperatures ranging from 42°C to 51°C, which fall under the “danger” classification:
- Dagupan City, Pangasinan - 42°C
- Baler (Radar), Aurora - 42°C
- Borongan, Eastern Samar - 43°C
- Zamboanga City, Zamboanga Del Sur - 42°C
PAGASA cautioned that in areas under a danger-level heat index, heat cramps and heat exhaustion "are likely," while heat stroke "is probable with continued exposure."
The heat index refers to the temperature felt by the human body when relative humidity is combined with actual air temperature. High humidity slows the evaporation of sweat, making it more difficult for the body to cool down.
PAGASA advised the public to limit outdoor activity and wear hats or use umbrellas when outside.
It also recommended staying hydrated by drinking plenty of water while avoiding tea, coffee, alcohol, and carbonated drinks. —VAL, GMA News
