LPA spotted in eastern Mindanao
The trough of a Low Pressure Area (LPA) will be affecting Mindanao on Friday while the effects of the Tail-end of a Cold Front will be felt in northern Luzon, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.
Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorm due to the trough of the LPA. The weather bureau warns that the occurrence of flash floods and landslides are possible due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands will have cloudy skies with light rains brought about by the northeast monsoon.
Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley Region, and Aurora province will have cloudy skies with rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms due to the Tail-End of a Cold Front. Residents in these areas are warned that flash floods and landslides may occur due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of Mindanao, and the rest of central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized thunderstorms. PAGASA reports that flash floods may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies.
The wind speed in extreme northern Luzon will be strong while moving northeastward while coastal waters will be rough.
Northern Luzon and eastern sections of central and southern Luzon wind speed is moderate to strong moving in the northeast to east direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The eastern sections of the Visayas region and Mindanao will have moderate wind speed moving northeast to north and with moderate coastal waters.
The rest of the country will have slight to moderate winds moving east to northeast and coastal waters slight to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
