Easterlies to affect Visayas and Mindanao


The effects of the easterlies will be felt in the Visayas and Mindanao areas on Friday, PAGASA reported in its early morning forecast.

MIMAROPA, the Visayas and Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. The weather bureau warned that flash floods may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers brought about by localized thunderstorms. Residents are advised to be vigilant as flash floods may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The forecast wind speed for northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving southeast to northeast direction while coastal waters are expected to be moderate.

For the rest of Luzon, wind speed is light to moderate moving southeast to east while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.

The wind speed for the rest of the country will be light to moderate moving eastward to northeastward with coastal waters remaining slight to moderate. — BAP, GMA News
