Perla may exit PAR Sunday or Monday; light rains seen in Batanes, 3 other areas

Typhoon Perla (international name: Neoguri) may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Sunday night or Monday morning but still has no direct effect on the country, PAGASA said Sunday.

Meanwhile the northeasterly surface windflow will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies and light rainshowers over Batanes, Apayao, Ilocos Norte and Cagayan.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand will have generally fair weather with possible isolated rainshowers in the afternoon or evening due to localized thunderstorms.

As of 3 a.m. Sunday, Perla's eye was located at 635 km east northeast of Basco, Batanes.

Perla has maximum sustained winds of 140 kph and gustiness of up to 170 kph.

The typhoon is moving north northeast at 15 kph.

No Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal has been raised.

PAGASA is also monitoring two other weather disturbances which are still both outside PAR. 

One is Tropical Storm Bualoi which at 3 a.m. was located 2,915 km east of Visayas. Bualoi has maximum sustained winds of 75 kph and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It is moving west northwest at 30 kph. PAGASA said Bualoi has a low chance of entering PAR.

The other one is a shallow low pressure area located at 3 a.m. at 1,610 km east of Central Luzon. It has a low chance of turning into a tropical depression but may enter PAR on Monday or Tuesday.

A gale warning has been raised over the seaboards of Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands and Ilocos Norte. Fishermen and those with small seacraft are not allowed to venture into sea as waves may reach as high as 4.5 meters.

• Tacloban: 25ºC-31ºC
• Cagayan de Oro: 23ºC-32ºC
• Davao: 26ºC-34ºC
• Zamboanga: 24ºC-35ºC
