Cloudy skies, scattered rains over Metro Manila, parts of Southern Luzon, Visayas due to Trough of LPA, Habagat


A Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 905 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes while the southwest monsoon will be affecting the western sections of southern Luzon and Visayas on Friday, PAGASA reported.

Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and Northern Samar will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms brought about by the Trough of the LPA and southwest monsoon. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas, the bureau warned, during severe thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to the southwest Monsoon and localized thunderstorms with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.

Wind speed in the extreme northern Luzon will be moderate to strong and moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Luzon will have light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to northwest direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

In the Visayas and Mindanao, wind speed forecast is light to moderate moving in the southwest to west direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
