LPA spotted in Surigao del Norte —PAGASA

A low pressure area was spotted in Surigao del Norte embedded along the intertropical convergence zone affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao, PAGASA said Thursday.

In its daily weather bulletin, PAGASA said the LPA was located 825 kilometers east of Surigao City.

PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Caraga due to the ITCZ and LPA.

PAGASA advised affected residents to prepare for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA added.

Meanwhile, Batanes and the Babuyan Islands will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeasterly surface windflow.

Further, moderate to strong wind and moderate to rough coastal water conditions will prevail over the Northern Luzon, while light to moderate winds and slight to moderate waters will be experienced over the rest of the country. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
