LPA to bring scattered rains over the central Philippines
A low-pressure area (LPA) off Eastern Samar will bring rains over the central Philippines, PAGASA reported Monday afternoon.
In its bulletin, the state weather bureau said the LPA was 255 kilometers north-northeast of Borongan City in Eastern Samar at 3 p.m.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms would prevail over Palawan, the Visayas, the Zamboanga Peninsula, and Northern Mindanao due to the LPA.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country would experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms may be experienced in the affected areas, PAGASA added.
Wind conditions over Palawan, the Visayas, and Mindanao would be moderate to strong while coastal waters would be moderate to rough. Meanwhile, winds would be light to moderate over the rest of Luzon with slight to moderate coastal conditions.
Temperatures dropped to a low of 26°C at 5 a.m. and rose to a maximum of 31.6°C at noon.
