LPA's trough to bring scattered rain showers over Bicol, Quezon, 4 other areas


The trough or extension of a low pressure area (LPA) located east of Cagayan will bring scattered rain showers over the Bicol Region, Quezon, and four other areas on Sunday, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.

The other affected areas are Marinduque, Romblon, Samar Provinces, and Biliran.

The above mentioned areas will have cloudy skies and thunderstorms as well. Flash floods or landslides may result during times of moderate to heavy rains.

At 3 a.m., the LPA was located at 755 km east of Aparri, Cagayan.

"Posibleng in the next 24 hours ay mag-develop ito into a tropical depression," DOST-PAGASA weather specialist Ezra Bulquerin said during the weather update.

(In the next 24 hours, this may develop into a tropical depression.)

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur during severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.
