Shear line to bring rains over Visayas, 4 other areas
A shear line is affecting Southern Luzon and Visayas and will bring rains over several areas on Monday, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
Visayas, Bicol Region, MIMAROPA, Quezon, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line. Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains may possibly lead to flash floods or landslides.
According to PAGASA's heavy rainfall outlook, the provinces of Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Northern Samar, Samar, Eastern Samar, Biliran, and Leyte may expect moderate to heavy rains measuring 50 to 100 mm due to the shear line.
The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) meanwhile is affecting the rest of Luzon.
Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon and CALABARZON may expect cloudy skies with rains due to the monsoon. Flash floods or landslides may possibly result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of Luzon meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon, but no significant impact is expected.
The easterlies on the other hand are affecting Mindanao.
Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies, with the possibility of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result.
Coastal waters will be rough to very rough in Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have moderate to rough coastal waters, while Mindanao's waters will be slight to moderate.
