Orange rainfall warning raised in Metro Manila, nearby provinces

Orange rainfall warning raised in Metro Manila and nearby provinces

The state weather bureau PAGASA on Monday issued a heavy rainfall warning over Metro Manila and several neighboring provinces as the southwest monsoon (Habagat) continues to bring widespread rains.

In its 10:45 a.m. advisory, PAGASA raised the orange rainfall warning level in the following areas:

  • Metro Manila
  • Cavite
  • Rizal
  • Bulacan
  • Pampanga
  • Zambales
  • Bataan
  • Parts of Batangas
  • Parts of Laguna

An orange rainfall warning means flooding is threatening in low-lying and flood-prone areas. Residents in areas under the orange warning are advised to be alert for possible evacuation as intense rainfall may cause serious flooding.

Yellow rainfall warning

Meanwhile, a yellow warning level—which signals the possibility of flooding in flood-prone areas—has been raised in the following areas:

  • Tarlac
  • other parts of Laguna
  • Batangas

Meanwhile, PAGASA said light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are also affecting parts of:

Quezon, Nueva Ecija, and Batangas, including Batangas City, Ibaan, Lobo, Padre Garcia, Rosario, San Juan, and Taysan. These conditions are expected to persist within the next three hours.

The public, especially local disaster risk reduction and management offices, is advised to closely monitor updates and take precautionary measures.

The next rainfall warning will be issued at 2:00 p.m.
