Habagat to cause rains in Luzon, Visayas — PAGASA

Habagat to cause rains in Luzon, Visayas — PAGASA

The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat continues to bring rains to different parts of Luzon and Visayas.

According to its 4 p.m. daily weather forecast on Thursday, weather bureau PAGASA said the Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Apayao, Abra, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, and Pampanga will see cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon.

The Habagat will also cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Visayas.

Localized thunderstorms, meanwhile, will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Mindanao.

Possible flash floods or landslides may be expected in some areas due to these weather conditions.

Moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough waters may be expected over extreme northern Luzon.

The western section of Luzon will be having moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough seas, while the rest of the country may expect light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.

In a separate weather advisory at 11 a.m. Thursday, PAGASA said the Southwest Monsoon "is now less likely to bring significant rainfall" over northern Luzon.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:39 a.m. on Friday. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
