Rains to persist over PH due to Habagat
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to bring rains over several parts of the country, PAGASA said Thursday afternoon.
According to its 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said the Habagat will affect the weather conditions of Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Zambales, Bataan, Pampanga, and Bulacan.
These moderate to at times heavy rains may cause flash floods or landslides.
The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also due to the Habagat.
The same conditions will be observed over the rest of Luzon due to localized thunderstorms.
These severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, as of 2 p.m. Thursday, Tropical Storm Podul has weakened into a Tropical Depression. It is currently being monitored outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
State meteorologists said winds and coastal waters will be moderate in Northern Luzon.
The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind conditions and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.
Sunrise will be at 5:42 a.m. on Friday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/LDF, GMA Integrated News
