Habagat, tropical storm to bring rains over parts of PH

The Southwest Monsoon continues to bring rains across the country as PAGASA continues to monitor a Tropical Storm (formerly Jacinto) located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

According to its late afternoon weather forecast on Friday, Jacinto was last seen at 860 kilometers west of Northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

The trough of the tropical storm will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales and Bataan, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon.

The Southwest Monsoon will cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over MIMAROPA, Visayas, Mindanao, Cavite, and Batangas, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon.

Possible flash floods or landslides may occur in some areas as a result of the said weather conditions.

Meanwhile, moderate winds with moderate coastal waters will be expected over Luzon and Visayas.

Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.
