Trough of LPA to affect Eastern Visayas, parts of Mindanao

Trough of LPA to affect Eastern Visayas, parts of Mindanao

The trough of a low pressure area that is currently outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility will affect weather conditions in parts of Visayas and Mindanao, according to PAGASA's early Saturday morning forecast.

Because of the trough of the LPA, which PAGASA says is unlikely to turn into a tropical depression in the next 24 hours, the Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms will also occur in Batanes, Cagayan, and Ilocos Norte due to the trough of a tropical cyclone.

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will prevail in MIMAROPA, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, the rest of Visayas, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, the Bicol Region, and the rest of Mindanao.

Localized thunderstorms are expected in the rest of Luzon.

Winds and coastal waters will be moderate in the western section of Luzon. The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate seas.

Sunrise in Metro Manila was at 5:44 a.m., while sunset is scheduled for 6:09 p.m. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
