Super Typhoon Nando has Signal No. 3 over Batanes, Babuyan, northeast Cagayan

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has raised Signal No. 3 over Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, and Santa Ana in Cagayan as Super Typhoon Nando grew slightly stronger while moving towards extreme northern Luzon.

According to PAGASA's tropical cyclone bulletin issued at 8 p.m. on Sunday, the center of the eye of Super Typhoon Nando was estimated based on all available data at 410 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan. 

It has maximum sustained winds of 195 kph near the center, gustiness of up to 240 kph, and a central pressure of 920 hPa.

The three areas under Signal No. 3 are expected to experience winds of 89 kph to 117 kph and a moderate to significant threat to life.

The following areas under Signal No. 3 will experience 62 kph to 88 kph winds and a minor to moderate threat to life and property.

• The rest of mainland Cagayan, the northern and eastern portions of Isabela (San Mariano, Ilagan City, Tumauini, Cabagan, Palanan, Divilacan, Maconacon, San Pablo, Santa Maria, Santo Tomas, Delfin Albano, Quezon, Quirino, Mallig, Roxas, Gamu, Burgos),
• Apayao,
• Abra,
• Kalinga,
• the eastern portion of Mountain Province (Paracelis, Natonin, Barlig, Sadanga), Ilocos Norte, and
• the northern portion of Ilocos Sur (Cabugao, Sinait, San Juan, Magsingal, Santo Domingo, Bantay, San Ildefonso, San Vicente, Santa Catalina, City of Vigan, Caoayan, Santa, Nagbukel, Narvacan, Santa Maria, San Emilio, Burgos, Santiago, San Esteban, Lidlidda, Banayoyo)

Areas under Signal No. 1 will experience 39 kph to 61 kph winds.

• Quirino,
• Nueva Vizcaya,
• the rest of Mountain Province,
• Ifugao,
• Benguet,
• the rest of Ilocos Sur,
• La Union,
• Pangasinan,
• the northern and central portions of Zambales ( Santa Cruz, Candelaria, Masinloc, Iba, Palauig, Cabangan, Botolan),
• Nueva Ecija,
• Tarlac,
• Aurora,
• the northern portion of Pampanga ( Mabalacat City, Magalang, Arayat, Candaba, Angeles City, Porac, Mexico, Santa Ana, San Luis, City of San Fernando, Bacolor), the northern portion of Bulacan ( Doña Remedios Trinidad, San Ildefonso, San Miguel, San Rafael), and
• the northern portion of Quezon ( General Nakar) including Polillo Islands.
