By GMA Integrated News
Up to nine more storms are expected to enter or form inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) before the year ends, PAGASA said Wednesday.
According to the state weather bureau’s monthly tropical cyclone forecast, two to four tropical cyclones may enter PAR in October.
Meanwhile, two to three storms may enter PAR in November and one to two storms in December.
In the first three months of 2026, the country may experience zero to one tropical cyclones.
PAGASA said the forecast is based on the agency’s 188th Climate Outlook Forum released on September 24, 2025.
Earlier today, the low pressure area east of Catanduanes developed into tropical depression Paolo.
At 11 a.m., Paolo was located 760 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes, with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and gusts of up to 55 km/h. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated NewsMore Videos
