Paolo slows down; Signal No. 2 in 4 areas
Severe Tropical Storm Paolo is moving away from Luzon, although its pace has slowed, according to PAGASA's bulletin released at 11 p.m. on Friday.
At 10 p.m., Paolo was located 160 km west northwest of Bacnotan, La Union or 150 km west southwest of Sinait, Ilocos Sur, carrying maximum sustained winds of 110 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 135 km/h.
Paolo was traveling at 25 km/h, down from 35 km/h three hours ago.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 was raised over the following areas:
- Ilocos Sur
- the western portion of Abra (Manabo, Pidigan, Tayum, Langiden, Luba, Danglas, Villaviciosa, La Paz, Pilar, Peñarrubia, San Isidro, San Quintin, Dolores, Bangued, Bucay, Tubo)
- the northern portion of La Union (Luna, Santol, City of San Fernando, San Juan, Bagulin, Bangar, San Gabriel, Bacnotan, Sudipen, Balaoan) the northwestern portion of Pangasinan (Anda, Bolinao, Bani)
Under Signal No. 1 are the following areas:
- the southern portion of Batanes (Mahatao, Uyugan, Basco, Ivana, Sabtang)
- Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands
- Isabela
- Quirino
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Apayao
- Kalinga
- the rest of Abra
- Mountain Province
- Ifugao
- Benguet
- Ilocos Norte
- the rest of La Union
- the rest of Pangasinan
- Aurora
- Nueva Ecija
- the northern portion of Bulacan (Doña Remedios Trinidad, San Miguel, San Ildefonso, San Rafael)
- Tarlac
- the northern and central portions of Pampanga (Mexico, Porac, Angeles City, San Luis, Santa Rita, Santa Ana, Guagua, Mabalacat City, Arayat, Candaba, Santo Tomas, San Simon, City of San Fernando, Bacolor, Floridablanca, Magalang)
- Zambales
Paolo is forecast to continue moving west northwestward and will exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday morning.
It will also return to a typhoon category within the next 12 hours, PAGASA said. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
