LPA outside PAR has 'high' chance of becoming tropical cyclone - PAGASA

A low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has a high chance of developing into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours, according to PAGASA.

According to PAGASA's update early Thursday, the LPA was located 1,355 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas at around 8 a.m.

PAGASA previously said that the easterlies would cause rains over Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas.

The country will feel light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
