PAGASA debunks fake news on super typhoons to hit PH
The state weather bureau PAGASA on Tuesday denied the false information circulating online that there will be two super typhoons to hit the islands of Luzon and Visayas in November.
While the forecast showed that a tropical cyclone might develop outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility this week, PAGASA noted that there is still uncertainty about it.
(Based on the Tropical Cyclone Threat Potential Forecast (October 26, 2025), there is a possibility of a typhoon forming outside the PAR this week (October 27–November 02), and a possibility that it may cross the country next week (November 03–09).)
(Because this forecast is still within the two-week range, the uncertainty regarding the details remains high, especially concerning the direction and strength of the possible typhoon. Also, based on the climatology of typhoons that pass through the Philippines every November, storms usually move westward, often affecting Southern Luzon and Visayas.)
Further, PAGASA advised the public to be careful in sharing unofficial information.
“Maging maingat sa pagbabahagi hindi opisyal na impormasyon at huwag basta maniwala sa mga post mula sa hindi opisyal na mga pinagmulan,” the state weather bureau said, adding that updates can be checked via PAGASA’s official website and social media pages.
(Be careful in sharing unofficial information and do not immediately believe posts from unofficial sources.)
