PAGASA: No LPA but ITCZ, northeast monsoon to bring rains, thunderstorms

The Intertropical Convergence Zone affecting Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao will bring cloudy skies, rains, and thunderstorms to several parts of the country, the state weather bureau said on Wednesday.

In its 4 a.m. public weather forecast for Oct. 29, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the northeast monsoon, on the other hand, is affecting extreme Northern Luzon.

PAGASA said there are no low pressure areas (LPA) being monitored for tropical cyclone formation so far.

Eastern and Central Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Masbate, and Sorsogon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms as a result of the ITCZ.

The ITCZ will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms to Palawan, the rest of Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao.

Meanwhile, Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with rains as a result of the northeast monsoon.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the effect of the easterlies.

Meanwhile, extreme Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal conditions.

Visayas, the rest of Luzon, and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal conditions.
