Cloudy skies, rain expected at start of Undas 2025 long weekend
The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) is expected to bring cloudy skies and rain over several areas in the country in the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Thursday afternoon.
Based on the state weather bureau’s 4 p.m. bulletin, the affected areas are Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Misamis Occidental, and Lanao del Norte.
The ITCZ will also affect the weather conditions of the Bicol Region, the rest of Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao.
Meanwhile, Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.
Cloudy skies with light rains will persist in Batanes due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan).
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers and thunderstorms will be observed over the rest of Luzon due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned that these weather conditions may trigger flash floods and landslides.
It also monitored a low pressure area outside the Philippine area of responsibility, which has a "low chance" of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours.
State meteorologists also said extreme Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.
Winds will be light to moderate, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.
The sun will rise at 5:51 a.m. on Friday, October 31, which was declared a special non-working holiday in observance of Undas 2025. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BM, GMA Integrated News
