Storm surge warning up in over 20 areas —PAGASA
The state weather bureau PAGASA has issued a storm surge warning in various parts of the country, noting that a high risk of life-threatening storm surge may occur within the next 24 hours.
In its 8 p.m. advisory, PAGASA said that there is a possibility of inundation from rising sea water along with high waves in the low-lying coastal communities in the provinces/municipalities of the following:
More than 3 meters
- Dinagat Islands
- Eastern Samar
- Leyte
- Samar (Western Samar)
- Southern Leyte
- Surigao del Norte
More than 2.1 to 3 meters
- Eastern Samar
- Southern Leyte
- Surigao del Norte
More than 1 to 2 meters
- Agusan del Norte
- Aklan
- Antique
- Biliran
- Bohol
- Camiguin
- Capiz
- Cebu
- Eastern Samar
- Guimaras
- Iloilo
- Leyte
- Masbate
- Misamis Oriental
- Negros Occidental
- Negros Oriental
- Northern Samar
- Occidental Mindoro
- Oriental Mindoro
- Palawan
- Romblon
- Samar (Western Samar)

PAGASA also recommended residents in the said areas to stay away from the coast or beach; cancel all marine activities; move to higher grounds away from the coast and storm surge-prone areas; and follow the latest updates.
According to the 8 p.m. weather bulletin, eight areas in the Visayas and Mindanao are still under Signal No. 4 as Typhoon Tino intensified further while moving west-northwestward over the east of Dinagat Island.
