PAGASA issues alert for over 200 mm rain in Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay
PAGASA warned of heavy rainfall in parts of the country over the weekend due to Severe Tropical Storm Uwan.
“Forecast rainfall may be higher in mountainous and elevated areas. Moreover, impacts in some areas may be worsened by significant antecedent rainfall,” PAGASA said.
According to PAGASA’s Weather Advisory No. 3 for Uwan, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and Albay will have more than 200 mm of rainfall from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon.
Widespread flooding and landslides are expected in these areas.
From Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon, more than 200mm of rainfall is expected in the following areas.
- Aurora
- Nueva Ecija
- Cagayan
- Isabela
- Quirino
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Apayao
- Kalinga
- Abra
- Mountain Province
- Ifugao
- Benguet
- Ilocos Norte
- Ilocos Sur
- La Union
- Pangasinan
From Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon, rainfall of 100 mm to 200 mm may be expected over the following areas:
- Cagayan
- Isabela
- Quirino
- Aurora
- Quezon
- Camarines Norte
- Sorsogon
- Masbate
- Northern Samar
- Samar
- Eastern Samar.
Areas that will have rainfall from 100 mm to 200 mm are likely to have numerous flooding events, especially in areas that are urbanized, low-lying or near rivers. Landslides are likely in modrate to highly susceptible areas.
The following areas will have 50 to 100 mm of rainfall from Saturday afternoon to Sunday afternoon:
- Apayao
- Kalinga
- Mountain Province
- Ifugao
- Nueva Vizcaya
- Nueva Ecija
- Bulacan
- Rizal
- Laguna
- Marinduque
- Romblon
- Biliran
- Leyte
These areas will possibly have localized flooding, mainly in areas that are urbanized, low-lying, or near rivers. Landslides are possible in highly susceptible areas

- Metro Manila
- Zambales
- Bataan
- Tarlac
- Pampanga
- Bulacan
- Cavite
- Laguna
- Batangas
- Rizal
- Quezon
- Occidental Mindoro
Rainfall of 50 mm to 100 mm can be observed in the following areas from Sunday afternoon to Monday afternoon:
- Batanes
- Oriental Mindoro
- Marinduque
- Romblon
- Camarines Norte
- Camarines Sur
- Aklan
- Antique
Earlier, PAGASA said that Tropical Storm Uwan is making its way towards the country and is set to enter PAR by Friday or early Saturday morning.
It was last located at 1,175 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas with maximum sustained winds of 110 kph and gustiness of up to 135 kph.
Expected wind signals not be hoisted throughout the forecast periods may reach as high as Signal no. 5.
