3 weather systems to bring cloudy skies, rains over Mindanao, parts of N. Luzon

The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), Shear Line, and the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies and rains over southern Mindanao and parts of northern Luzon on Thursday, PAGASA reported.

Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and may cause flash floods or landslides to occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line with the possible occurrence of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Batanes and Ilocos Norte with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and residents are warned that flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The rest of Ilocos Region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon but the weather will not have a significant impact over the area.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed over northern Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving in the east to northeast direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.

Mindanao residents will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed movong northeastward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
