Shear line to bring rains over Northern Luzon
Parts of Northern Luzon will have rains on Sunday due to a shear line, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
Apayao, Cagayan, Isabela, and Quirino will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line. Moderate to heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides.
Cagayan and Isabela may have 50 to 100 mm of rainfall on Sunday, according to PAGASA's heavy rainfall outlook.
The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) meanwhile is affecting the other areas of Northern Luzon.
The rest of Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with rains, with the possibility of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The Ilocos Region may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to the monsoon. No significant impact however is expected.
Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte on the other hand may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies. Flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, Eastern Visayas, and Bohol meanwhile are being affected by the trough of a low pressure area (LPA). These areas will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms. Residents are warned against possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The LPA is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) today. It also has a medium chance of developing into a tropical depression in 24 hours. If it becomes a tropical depression inside PAR, it will be called Verbena, PAGASA said.
The rest of Mindanao on the other hand will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms brought about by the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ). Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result.
Coastal waters will be rough in Extreme Northern Luzon, and moderate to rough in the rest of Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas.
Visayas and the rest of Luzon will have moderate coastal waters, while Mindanao will enjoy slight to moderate coastal waters.
