STS Koto, weather systems to bring rains over parts of PH — PAGASA
PAGASA continues to monitor Severe Tropical Storm Koto (formerly Verbena) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as various weather systems bring rains over parts of the country.
According to PAGASA’s 4 p.m. daily weather forecast, STS Koto was last seen at 255 kilometers northwest of Pagasa Island in Kalayaan, Palawan.
Koto currently has maximum sustained winds of 100 km/h and gustiness of up to 125 km/h, and its trough will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Palawan and Occidental Mindoro.
The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Apayao, Kalinga, Cagayan, and Isabela, while the Northeast Monsoon will cause cloudy skies with rains over Ilocos Region, Batanes, and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
Possible flash floods or landslides will occur in some areas as a result of said weather conditions.
Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough waters will be felt over Northern Luzon and the western sections of Southern Luzon.
The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas.
Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:04 a.m. on Saturday. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
