Parts of Metro Manila, 4 Luzon provinces experience heavy to intense rains

Parts of Metro Manila and four provinces in Luzon experienced heavy to intense rains with lightning and strong winds Monday afternoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said. 

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 3:40 p.m., PAGASA said the following areas are affected: 

• Metro Manila (Quezon City, Marikina, Pasig),
• Batangas (Taysan, Lobo, Batangas City, Ibaan, Rosario),
• Zambales (Santa Cruz, Candelaria),
• Rizal (Antipolo, Tanay), and
• Quezon (General Nakar).

It may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas.

Meanwhile, within the next two hours, the following areas will experience heavy to intense rains with lightning and strong winds: 

• Tarlac,
• Cavite,
• Nueva Ecija,
• Bataan,
• Laguna (San Pablo, Alaminos, Rizal, Nagcarlan, Liliw, Majayjay, Santa Maria, Mabitac, Pakil, Famy, Siniloan, Pangil, Calamba, Cabuyao, Los Banos, Bay, Calauan, Santa Rosa, Binan, San Pedro),
• Pampanga (Floridablanca, Porac, Angeles, Mabalacat, Magalang) and
• Bulacan (Dona Remedios Trinidad, Norzagaray, San Jose del Monte, Santa Maria, Bocaue, Bulakan, Marilao, Meycauayan, Obando).

Affected residents are advised to take precautionary measures against flash floods and landslides. —AOL, GMA Integrated News
