LPA, Amihan to bring cloudy skies, rains over PH

The low pressure area (LPA) that was formerly Tropical Depression Wilma and the Northeast Monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies and rains over parts of the country, the state weather bureau PAGASA said.

According to the 24-hour weather forecast issued at 4 p.m. on Sunday, the LPA is expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Western Visayas and MIMAROPA regions.

As of 4 p.m., the LPA is being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility over the coastal waters of Milagros, Masbate.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan is forecast to bring cloudy skies with rains over Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of Cagayan Valley. Likewise, the Amihan is expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region.

Further, the shear line is forecast to bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Quirino, Aurora, and Isabela.

The localized thunderstorms, on the other hand, might bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of Visayas and Mindanao.

On Sunday, PAGASA also recorded the lowest temperature for the day of 13.6°C in Baguio City. It was followed by 18.2°C in Casiguran, Aurora, and 19.5°C in Tanay, Rizal. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
