Rain expected in Northern, Central Luzon due to Amihan
Several areas in Northern and Central Luzon may experience cloudy skies and rain in the next 24 hours due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan), PAGASA said Tuesday afternoon.
Based on the state weather bureau’s 4 p.m. forecast, the affected areas include Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon.
Meanwhile, cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms will persist over Aurora and Quezon.
The Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to easterly winds.
Similar weather conditions are expected throughout the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned that these conditions may trigger flash floods or landslides.
The Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in the Ilocos Region, with no significant impact expected.
State meteorologists said winds will be moderate to strong, while coastal waters will be moderate in Luzon.
Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.
