Shear line, amihan to bring cloudy skies, rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas

The Shear Line will be affecting the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas while the Northeast Monsoon (amihan) will affect Northern and Central Luzon on Friday, PAGASA reported.

The Bicol Region, Quezon, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the Shear Line. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with rains due to the Northeast Monsoon and residents are warned that flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to the Northeast Monsoon but this will have no significant impact.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of CALABARZON will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Shear Line as flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Easterlies with flash floods or landslides possibl occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast in Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas is moderate to strong and moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving northeastward with slight to moderate coastal waters.
