Amihan, easterlies to bring cloudy skies, rains over parts of PH on Monday, Dec. 15

Parts of the country will experience cloudy skies with rains as a result of the Northeast Monsoon affecting Luzon and the easterlies affecting the rest of the Philippines, the state weather bureau said on Monday.

In its 4 a.m. daily weather forecast, PAGASA said the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Southern Leyte.

MIMAROPA, the rest of Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the effect of the easterlies.

The state weather bureau warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains in these areas.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, and Quezon.

The Northeast Monsoon will also cause cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes and the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Northern Luzon will experience strong to gale-like winds and rough to very rough coastal water conditions while the rest of Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

PAGASA added that there are no low pressure areas (LPAs) being monitored for tropical cyclone formation so far.
