Amihan, easterlies to bring rain, cloudy skies over parts of PH

Cloudy skies and rain are expected in some areas of the country in the next 24 hours due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) and easterlies, PAGASA said Monday afternoon.

In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said the easterlies will affect the weather conditions of the Bicol Region, Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Southern Leyte.

Metro Manila, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Bulacan, and Cavite will experience cloudy skies with rain due to the Amihan.

Meanwhile, the shearline will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Quezon, Rizal, Batangas, and Laguna.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms will persist throughout the rest of the country due to the easterlies.

PAGASA said these weather conditions may trigger flash floods and landslides.

The Amihan will also affect the weather conditions of the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, the rest of Central Luzon, and the Ilocos Region, with no significant impact.

State meteorologists also said Northern Luzon will experience strong wind conditions and rough coastal water conditions.

Winds will be moderate to strong, while coastal waters will be moderate to rough throughout the rest of Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind conditions and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:14 a.m. on Tuesday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/GMA Integrated News
