ITCZ, amihan to bring cloudy skies, rains over Southern Mindanao, parts of Luzon
The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will be affecting southern Mindanao while the Northeast Monsoon (amihan) will affect Northern and Central Luzon, PAGASA reported.
Caraga, Davao Region, Palawan, Sarangani, South Cotabato, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these area due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Bicol Region, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies and flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with rains due to the Northeast Monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides will occur due to moderate with at times heavy rains.
Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon but this will have no significant impact.
The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies while flash floods or landslides may occur due to severe thunderstorms.
The northern and eastern sections of Luzon, and the eastern section of Visayas will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving northeastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.
The rest of Luzon and of Visayas will experience moderate wind speed moving northeastward with moderate coastal waters.
The wind speed forecast for Mindanao is light to moderate moving in the east to northeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
