Three weather systems to bring rain over parts of PH

Several areas in the country are expected to experience cloudy skies and rain in the next 24 hours due to three weather systems, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.

In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms will persist over Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and mainland Cagayan due to the shear line.

The Visayas, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Cloudy skies with rain will be observed over Batanes, the Babuyan Islands, Apayao, Kalinga, and Ilocos Norte due to the Northeast Monsoon, or Amihan.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

PAGASA warned that these weather conditions may trigger flash floods and landslides.

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the rest of the Ilocos Region and the Cordillera Administrative Region, with no significant impact expected.

State meteorologists also said winds will be strong to gale-force, while coastal waters will be rough to very rough over extreme northern Luzon.

Central Luzon and the rest of northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

Winds will be light to moderate, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate over the rest of the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:17 a.m. on Monday.—MCG, GMA Integrated News
