Amihan to bring rain in Northern, Central Luzon

Cloudy skies and rain will persist in Northern and Central Luzon due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan), PAGASA said Tuesday afternoon.

In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said the affected areas are the provinces of Cagayan, Isabela and Aurora.

Meanwhile, the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Quezon, and Surigao del Sur will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

The easterlies will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

PAGASA warned that these weather conditions may trigger flash floods and landslides.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will be observed in the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon, also due to the Amihan, with no significant impact.

State meteorologists also said winds will be moderate to strong, while coastal waters will be moderate to rough in Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and the eastern section of Southern Luzon.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind conditions and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:18 a.m. on Wednesday. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
