Cloudy skies, rain expected in most parts of Luzon due to Amihan

Cloudy skies and rain are expected in most parts of Luzon due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan), PAGASA said Thursday afternoon.

The Amihan will prevail over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon but is not expected to have a significant impact.

Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will persist in the Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan due to the easterlies.

PAGASA warned that severe thunderstorms may trigger flash floods and landslides.

Winds will be strong to gale, while coastal waters will be rough to very rough in Extreme Northern Luzon.

The rest of Northern Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.

Winds will be light to moderate, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:19 a.m. on Friday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/VBL, GMA Integrated News
