Up to 1 tropical cyclone may enter PAR in January –PAGASA
Up to one tropical cyclone may enter the Philippine area of responsibility in January 2026, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.
Balitanghali reported Thursday that according to PAGASA, the potential tropical cyclone that may hit the country in the first month of the year may make landfall near Eastern Visayas or the Caraga region.
It may also divert completely from the country.
Despite this, no weather disturbances have yet to be seen forming inside the Philippine area of responsibility.
Earlier, PAGASA said that up to 8 tropical cyclones may be expected within the first half of 2026.
Based on PAGASA’s climate outlook for January to June 2026, the expected storms per month are as follows:
- January: 0 or 1
- February: 0 or 1
- March: 0 or 1
- April: 0 or 1
- May: 1 or 2
- June: 1 or 2
