Expect a rainy Monday due to 3 weather systems

Cloudy skies and rain are expected in several parts of the country due to three weather systems, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.

In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms will persist in Visayas, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Romblon due to the shear line.

Caraga, Palawan, Camiguin, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, and Zamboanga del Norte will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the easterlies.

Cloudy skies with rain will be observed in Cagayan, Isabela, Quezon, Laguna, Batangas, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, and Camarines Norte due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan).

The easterlies will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms throughout the rest of Mindanao.

PAGASA warned that these weather conditions may trigger flash floods and landslides.

The Amihan will also affect the weather conditions of the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon, with no significant impact.

State meteorologists also said winds will be strong to gale, while coastal waters will be rough to very rough in the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas.

The rest of Luzon and of Visayas and the eastern section of Mindanao will experience moderate to strong wind conditions and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.

Winds will be light to moderate, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of Mindanao.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:22 a.m. on Monday. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
