Traslacion 2026: Cloudy skies, rain to persist in Manila, parts of Luzon on Friday

Metro Manila and some areas in Luzon are expected to experience cloudy skies and rain on the Feast of Jesus Nazareno on Friday, according to the state weather bureau.

Based on PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast for Thursday, the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will affect the weather conditions of the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of CALABARZON, but with no significant impact.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms will persist in the Bicol Region, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Palawan, and Northern Samar due to the shear line.

Meanwhile, the easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms throughout the rest of the country.

PAGASA warned that these weather conditions may trigger flash floods or landslides.

State meteorologists also said Northern Luzon will see strong wind conditions and rough coastal water conditions.

Winds will be moderate to strong, while coastal waters will be moderate to rough throughout the rest of Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind conditions and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:24 a.m. on Friday.

The annual Traslacion commemorates the transfer of the image of Jesus Nazareno from Intramuros to its current home at Quiapo Church.
