Cloudy skies, light rains over Metro Manila on Friday, Traslacion 2026
Metro Manila is in for cloudy skies and light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon on Friday, January 9, as Catholic faithful join the Traslacion for the Feast of Jesus Nazareno in Manila.
In its 4 a.m. daily weather forecast, PAGASA said the shear line is affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon while the Northeast Monsoon is affecting the rest of Luzon.
The easterlies are affecting the rest of the country.
The Amihan is expected to bring cloudy skies with light rains over Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Calabarzon on Friday, the state weather bureau said.
Similarly, Aurora, Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, and Quezon will experience cloudy skies with rains while the Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains because of the Northeast Monsoon.
Meanwhile, Bicol Region and Northern Samar will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms as a result of the shear line.
The rest of Eastern Visayas will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms while the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies.
PAGASA warned of possible flashfloods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains is some areas.
Northern Luzon will experience strong winds and rough coastal waters while the rest of Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.
The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal water conditions.
