LPA spotted outside PAR — PAGASA
State weather bureau PAGASA reported Tuesday a low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) towards the southern area of the archipelago.
According to a Balitanghali report, the LPA was located at 2,260 kms east of Southeastern Mindanao as of 8 a.m. Tuesday.
The LPA may enter the PAR by Thursday or Friday, but PAGASA said there was a low chance that it would develop into a tropical depression.
Meanwhile, PAGASA said Tropical Depression Ada (international name: Nokaen) has maintained strength as it moves over the Philippine Sea within the PAR.
Ada was last located at 820 kms east of northern Luzon with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gusts of up to 70 kph.
It is expected to dissipate back into a low pressure area by Wednesday. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
