Amihan, shear line cause rains over PH

The Northeast Monsoon and the shear line is causing rains over several parts of the country as it continues to monitor the presence of a low pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

According to PAGASA’s daily weather forecast on Saturday, the low pressure area that was former tropical depression Ada was last seen 685 kilometers east of Davao City as of 3 p.m.

PAGASA said that the LPA is unlikely to redevelop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

Forecast

PAGASA said Caraga, Davao Region, SOCCSKSARGEN, Eastern Samar, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, and Bukidnon will be having cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms caused by the shear line.

The Northeast Monsoon, meanwhile, will cause cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, the rest of Visayas, the rest of Northern Mindanao, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon, and Oriental Mindoro, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the rest of the country.

Flooding and landslides may occur in some areas as a result of these weather conditions.

Strong to gale-force winds with rough to very rough seas may be felt over the eastern section of Mindanao, while the rest of the Philippines will be observing moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters.
