LPA dissipates inside PAR; rain in parts of Visayas and Mindanao on Monday — PAGASA

The low pressure area (LPA) being monitored inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility that was the tropical cyclone Ada has dissipated on Sunday afternoon, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.

No other low pressure areas are being monitored for tropical cyclone formation, the state weather bureau said in a social media post.

The shear line and the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) are expected to bring rain in several areas in the Visayas and Mindanao in the next 24 hours, according to PAGASA’s 4 p.m. weather forecast.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms will persist over Caraga, Davao Region, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Camiguin, and Misamis Oriental due to the shear line.

The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned that these weather conditions may trigger flash floods or landslides.

Meanwhile, the Amihan will affect the weather conditions of Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and the rest of Visayas, but with no significant impact.

State meteorologists also said the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will experience strong winds and rough coastal waters.

Winds will be moderate to strong, while coastal waters will be moderate to rough throughout the rest of the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:25 a.m. on Monday. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
