Amihan, shear line to bring rain to parts of Luzon, Visayas
Several areas in the country will have cloudy skies and rain in the next 24 hours due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) and the shear line, PAGASA said Monday afternoon.
In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said the Amihan will affect the weather conditions of Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, Western Visayas, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Camarines Norte, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon, but with no significant impact.
Caraga, the rest of Visayas, the rest of Bicol Region, Camiguin, and Misamis Oriental will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms due to the shear line.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be observed in the rest of Mindanao due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned that these weather conditions may trigger flash floods and landslides.
State meteorologists also said the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will see strong winds and rough coastal waters.
Winds will be moderate to strong, while coastal waters will be moderate to rough throughout the rest of the country.
Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:25 a.m. on Tuesday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
