Cloudy skies, rains expected on Monday due to shear line, Amihan

The shear line and the Northeast Monsoon are forecast to bring cloudy skies and rains to different parts of the country on Monday, the state weather bureau said.

In its 4 a.m. daily weather outlook, PAGASA said the shear line is affecting the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas while the Northeast Monsoon is affecting the rest of Luzon.

The state weather bureau added that there are no low pressure areas (LPAs) being monitored for tropical cyclone formation.

Visayas, Sorsogon, Masbate, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms as a result of the shear line.

The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides in the above-mentioned areas.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon will cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Luzon and Visayas will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions, while Mindanao will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coalstal waters.
