Scattered rains seen over Luzon — PAGASA

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday warned of scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of Luzon due to a shear line in Southern Luzon and the northeast monsoon affecting the rest of the region.

Based on its 4 a.m. advisory, PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected over MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Aurora, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar.

Moderate to heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides in these areas, PAGASA said.

Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, and the rest of CALABARZON will also experience cloudy skies with rain caused by the northeast monsoon, with authorities warning of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rainfall.

The rest of Luzon is forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, while the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Localized thunderstorms may bring flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas, the weather bureau said.
