Rainy Monday for Luzon, Visayas due to Amihan, shear line

Several areas in Luzon will experience cloudy skies and rain due to the shear line and Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Sunday afternoon.

According to its 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms will persist in MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Quezon, Northern Samar, and Eastern Samar due to the shearline.

Localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms throughout the rest of the country.

Cagayan Valley, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Aurora, Rizal, and Laguna will see cloudy skies with rain due to the Amihan.

PAGASA warned these weather conditions may trigger flash floods and landslides.

The Amihan will also affect the weather conditions of Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of CALABARZON, and the rest of Luzon, but with no significant impact.

State meteorologists said winds will be strong to gale, while coastal waters will be rough to very rough.

The rest of Luzon will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

Winds will be light to moderate, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:22 a.m. on Monday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
