Shear line to cause cloudy skies, rains in parts of Luzon, Visayas

The shear line will continue to cause cloudy skies, scattered rains and thunderstorms over parts of Luzon and the Visayas on Monday, the state weather bureau said.

In its 4 a.m. public weather forecast, PAGASA said the shear line is affecting Southern Luzon while the Northeast Monsoon is affecting the rest of Luzon.

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms to the Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, and Masbate.

Meanwhile, the Northeast Monsoon will cause cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, the rest of Bicol Region, Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Aurora, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains in these areas.

The Cordillera Administrative Region will experience cloudy skies with light rains and Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Northern Luzon, Central Luzon, and the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas will have strong to gale-force winds and rough to very rough coastal water conditions, while the rest of Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal water conditions.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
