Rains in Luzon, Visayas due to shear line, Amihan
Several areas in Luzon and Visayas will experience rain due to the shear line and Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) within the next 24 hours, PAGASA said Monday afternoon.
In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms will persist in Eastern Visayas, Negros Occidental, Guimaras, Cebu, Iloilo, Capiz, Sorsogon, and Masbate due to the shear line.
The Amihan will bring cloudy skies with rains in Cagayan Valley, MIMAROPA, the rest of Western Visayas, the rest of Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be observed throughout the rest of the country due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned that these weather conditions may trigger flash floods and landslides.
The Amihan will also affect the weather conditions of the Cordillera Administrative Region, Metro Manila, and the rest of Luzon, but with no significant impact.
State meteorologists also said winds will be strong to gale, while coastal waters will be rough to very rough in Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas.
The rest of Luzon and the eastern section of Mindanao will see moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.
Winds will be light to moderate, while coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the rest of the country.
Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:22 a.m. on Tuesday. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/RF, GMA Integrated News
